I want to get active, where do I start- Weight Training?

If you could do one thing to improve your health, strength training should be at the top of your list

The general definition of strength training is any physical movement in which you use your body weight or equipment (e.g, dumbbells and resistance bands) to build muscle mass, strength & endurance.

If your getting started into weight training there’s a few things to consider:

  1. Start with the basic movements
  2. Start light and focus on form
  3. Gradually increase weights, reps or time
  4. Avoid over doing itGive yourself adequate rest
  5. Make sure you know how to perform an exercise to prevent chances of injuries
  6. If your not sure get a experienced friend or PT to help you
  7. Don’t expect changes straight away
  8. Think long term with your training and make it a habit
